October 7, 2008-Reactions to Witch Hunt at Toronto International Film Festival

Witch Hunt was well-received at Toronto with packed theatres and standing ovations, all we could have asked for. One truly remarkable aspect of this was the Q&A. Several of the subjects of the film were able to make the trip and audiences were fascinated by how these people were able to survive and cope with all they had been through. Witch Hunt made the cover of one of the festival's daily coverage, which is quite an honor. The link to the story is here.

Acclaim

'This is a chilling story about American law-enforcement run amok and untethered. It's particularly timely in the wake of revelations about the way the Bush administration has trampled American civil rights. A movie that can't help but move you - to tears and to action.'

'Witch Hunt' chronicles the unraveling of a small town's justice system. The main characters in this film were working class moms and dads who all were wrongly convicted of child molestation. They served lengthy prison time and were ultimately exonerated. All of the convicted were recklessly pursued by the same District Attorney who remains in office today.
